Kick Off to Summer

May 20, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Get the summer recreation season kicked off right with a celebration of Colorado Public Lands Day. Come for all the activities, or just pick a few…being outdoors is the perfect way to start your summer!

The fun starts at Arkansas Point Campground Ranger Station on the south side of the park at 5:30 pm. Kid’s of all ages will enjoy crafts, wildlife displays, a ranger patrol boat, trail information, a story-walk, a fishing game and even free popcorn.

At 6:30, across the field at the amphitheater, the Park Naturalist will talk about the wildlife of the park and end with a rousing game of “Wildlife Olympics.”

To top off the evening, starting at 7:15 pm, take a hike along the bluffs to discover all that Lake Pueblo’s public land has to offer.

All activities are free, but a valid park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park.

One more thing...

Local and independent journalism is under threat in the West and you can change that.  With corporate raiders slashing newsrooms across the West, the PULP is one of the "Last Locals" in Colorado to produce original, compelling journalism missing in today's profit hungry world. But that costs money, time and hard work. We don't believe in spamming you with ads and that's why we need your help.

For every contribution, we put 100% back into producing original and amazing journalism. That's a promise only a local and independent newsroom can promise. Take heart because you will fuel stories just like this one and the future of journalism.
