On August 20th, 2010 something truly remarkable happened on the back patio at Galileo's Restaurant. Not only did legendary reggae artist, Pato Banton (with his band, the Now Generation), bring down the house with his political and motivating lyrics, but over 600 people were united by a common cause - that of creating a more environmentally-responsible community.
It pays to have a cool friend who loves music - a friend who tells you when a great band is coming to town to play a show you can't miss. It's even better if your friend is the one bringing the show to town: doing the legwork, securing the venue, arranging accommodations for the band, and letting you know what time to show up.
If Bluegrass music makes you think of close relatives wearing overalls, picking banjos and singing songs about Dixie, according to the Ackermans, you are right on the money. Don't be put off by their "redneck tuxedos" - this band offers a palatable mix of traditional bluegrass that may make you rethink your musical ethos.
