It's a fact. People in Pueblo visit pawn shops - quite often, too, if the number of pawnbrokers is any evidence. It's a centuries-old practice for getting some quick cash. Even Queen Isabella of Spain pawned her jewels in order to get Christopher Columbus to "the Indies" before anyone else could. And why not? For the most part, pawning items is safe, legal, and easy to do. That's why it's one of the most popular places in P-town to get new-to-you movies.

"Six companies control all the media you're seeing," says The Wingman supporter of Artemis Eternal. Well, not exactly all. They don't control P.U.L.P. But GE, Walt Disney, News Corporation, TimeWarner, Viacom, and CBS do control a lot of the media, from production straight through to distribution.

FLICK: "Doomsday" for Tinseltown

One hundred seventy-five people got their money's worth last month. Who would have thought that an enjoyable Doomsday could only cost $3? David Browder of Middle of Nowhere Event and Sound evidently did. The 2nd annual Spring Fling Film Festival, hosted by the Red Raven Studio on April 3rd, was not only entertaining - it raised the bar for Pueblo filmmakers.
