April Horoscopes 2016

Capricorn 12/22–1/19

Your power to successfully harness the power of reflection will be superhuman. This is due to half of the planets in the solar system going retrograde, where they appear to be moving backwards. This movement can highlight the fact that life is about the journey and not the destination. Take this quote by Thomas Merton with you as your traverse the beautiful month of April, “the beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.”

Aquarius 1/20–2/18

If your life was going to crash in the near future, you would stop it, wouldn’t you? Are you so fixated on how you’re going to deal with the aftermath of the wreck, rather than coming to the realization that you can change your destination at any point? It’s almost as if you’re presently living in the future. Don’t do this, it’s not fair to anyone. Deal with life as it’s happening now, and project what you want. Once you gain laser-like focus, you will be unstoppable. This is a potent month for being aware of the power of desire.

Pisces 2/19–3/20

April is a circus. You bought the ticket for this freak show last month and now you’re witnessing the lusty balancing act between both intrinsic and extrinsic vocations. Recent soul-digging has broken the locks of your heart open; a necessary process to let in the light, and get your sexy fins on some gold. Healing and opportunity are core themes of your sign this month, so it’s important to take a dive, the direction of that dive is of little importance. Move with the ebb and flow of this refreshing energy and magic will undoubtedly emerge.

Aries 3/21–4/19

March was a time of reflection. Now that your time in the sun has just begun this is a period to light a fire under your ash. Things are smoking hot for you this month, including relationships (self included). Venus enters Aries on April 5th followed shortly by the new super moon in Aries on April 7th. Take this time to travel and absorb life. If your proverbial sponge is saturated, wring the stagnant water and make some space for a fresh and sudsy time. You’ve deserve it. Make mistakes, gain experience, live life.

Taurus 4/20—5/20

People would describe you as down to Earth and magical. With the shift of the sun and the equinox in the past, it’s time to really hone in on your self-empowerment and so some spiritual spring cleaning. You have a lot of good things to say to the world and it’s the perfect month to let your voice be heard. This is due to Mercury the Messenger entering your sign on April 5th. If you use these powers for good it will be healing beyond belief and prosperity will follow you wherever you go.

Gemini 5/21–6/21

If you can sit still during the first few days of April and gain peace with yourself, then the month will surely dish up a delicious treat. April is chock-full of fiery passion. Breakthroughs, visions, and partnerships are core themes that will be following you throughout the month. Find out what makes your clock tick and your time to shine will be abundant and almost alarming. If you’re running away from your life, you need to realize that no matter where you go, there you are.
Cancer 6/22–7/22

You are the architect of your life, dear Cancer. It’s never too late to look at the Lego fantasy you’ve built so far, crush it, and start over again. Don’t be self-defeating or limit yourself by your own inhibitions. Let go, and you’ll find that the feeling of the fall itself is more enjoyable than the actual fear of hitting the ground. March is the past, May doesn’t even exist yet, but April, April is open to nothing but infinite possibilities.

Leo 7/23–8/22

As the quote from C. Rogers states, “The curious paradox is, when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” If there are aspects about your personality that you don’t like, then change them. No one is going to care as much as you do, and if other people give you flack, then who cares? April will be a month full of fiery passion, it’s custom tailored to you, and you wear it well. If conflict is following you wherever you go, does it satisfy you? This is the way the universe is telling you to eat up your karmic leftovers, bubba.

Virgo 8/23–9/22

A great responsibility comes with knowledge, dear Virgo. There is no need to be in control, ever, especially when you love and allow yourself to love. April is a period of reflection. A tremendous amount of intuitive energy comes to you on April 7th and on April 22nd. If you find yourself having to hit the restart button over and over and over and over again, take this as a sign from the universe not that you are failing, but that you are making progress. Patience comes from within, harness it.

Libra 9/23–10/22

As Melody Beattie once said, “letting go helps us to to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress.” This quote could not be more perfect for your sign during April. Relationships with self and others are going to be predominantly apparent during this lunar transit. Remember, you are the most important person in your life, and if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.

Scorpio 10/23–11/21

April is a month of introspection and reflection. As authors of our lives we often don’t get the chance to take the distance we need to be the reader of the fiction we’ve written. Your contemporary and traditional rulers will be retrograde throughout April, so it’s a wonderful time to look at your material items and make sure the things you own, don’t own you. We can become bogged down by material objects. Once you take the time to physically and mentally declutter, expect your dharma to be smothered by delicious and peaceful tranquility, mmm.

Sagittarius 11/22–12/21

Risk taking is favored this month. If you don’t take a leap of faith, you can’t enjoy the fall and the rewards. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg put it quite profoundly by stating, “The biggest risk is not taking any risk… In a world that’s changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.” Your insatiable appetite will be met with a menu full of lots of options that come with complimentary love and passion. If the wind blows on your house of cards, it’s time to buy a kite.
